Pampanga Hits: AMARE BY CHEF CHRIS

Amare by Chef Chris is one of our favorite go-to restos in Pampanga, simply because they are one of the best Italian Restaurants in the Philippines. But ever since I quit sugar and carbs, I've intentionally avoided Italian cuisine, but for the holidays, I'M TREATING MYSELF!

This is where we had our lunch after checking out at Royce Hotel. It's right beside the casino, which made it a lot more convenient for our gastronomical visit!


The ambiance is very classy and the bright. I love that the aisles are spacious and there are artworks and photos framed everywhere.


VINO TIME!!!! Joke, too early. 😝



Seafood Salad

The serving is hefty and the ingredients were overflowing! Hindi kami nabitin ni Stacy sa salmon, shrimps, and tuna! WINNER! The vinaigrette dressing was perfect, too! Not too sweet, not too tangy. The balance of the flavors really complemented the seafood and greens!

Creamy Mushroom Soup

One of the best mushroom soups I've ever tasted. There are tiny bits of mushrooms you can feel in your mouth, but it's been almost blended so well with the cream. I think the croutons were tossed in cheese; they were crunchy and delicious!

Panizza 


My mom's favorite. I think she would drive to Pampanga just to have this. Haha! I can't blame her though! The dough is thin yet chewy, the cheeses and bacon are gourmet and of good quality. Grabe! Panalo ito. Just add the alfalfa sprouts, arugula, roll it and then dunk it in chili oil... 
BOOM! TONGUE-ASM!

Flank Steak

This medium-well steak is placed on top a bed of potato and cheese mash with spinach, zucchini slices and potato wedges. I think I've gone to steak heaven. We had to have it wrapped because we didn't finish it, but when we ate it for midnight snack (LELS), PANALO PA RIN, KAHIT MALAMIG! HAHAHA! Seriously, this is so good. No other steak dish compares.

Seafood Truffle Risotto

I've never had risotto this good. Just evertyhing about this dish is superb. The freshness and crunch of the veggies blending with the creaminess and tenderness of the rice, sobrang WIN!!! Add the truffle flavor and the juiciness of the salmon... WORTH IT ANG PAG-INDULGE KO SA CARBS!!!!

Pavlova

I was craving for some gooey, chocolatey dessert, but they didn't have any. The server suggested we try their pavlova. It's a merengue cake layered with whipped cream, strawberries, kiwis, and almonds. I INHALED IT THE MOMENT IT LANDED OUR TABLE. The sweetness and puffiness of the merengue is a delight in my mouth. The fruits added the right amount of zing, and the crunch of the almonds broke the airiness of the cream. 🍓 10 stars for me!

SA SOBRANG SARAP NITO NAPANAGINIPAN KO AFTER. NO JOKE. 💔


Stacy ordered their lemon cheesecake. Masarap rin, sobrang panalo rin. Creamy, cheesy, hindi nakakaumay, and the sweetened lemon rind toppings were so good, parang gummy candy na 'yung consistency nito. I'd give it 9/10, simply because I'm not a fan of lemon in my desserts.

Sabi ni Stacy nagwawala daw siya sa kitchen minsan, parang si Gordon Ramsey pero toned down version. LELS. But he's very warm and charming to his customers. I've seen him go around and ask people how their food is, and if there's anything wrong, he can bring the dish back to the kitchen, give his sou chefs some serious tongue-lashing, and bring out a better dish that will suit your palette. Haha!

I always enjoy my stay at Amare! The servers are quick and friendly, the food is AUTHENTIC AND SUPERB, and the ambiance is very chic. I highly recommend this for a special date night or birthday celebration with the family! Pricing is expensive but you totally get your money's worth. 
I'd say prepare P1500 to P2000 per head if you want to try Amare out.
